Jamison Boyer, Story Director
Jamison Boyer, a self-described techie, designer, and accomplished photographer is one of the co-owners of Manastorm Productions LLC, and has always had a creative eye. Starting back in 1994 when entering junior college, his first taste of the creative arts was working on the newsletter for a college club utilizing Adobe Photoshop 2.5 and Aldus Pagemaker 5.0 (which has now evolved into Adobe Indesign).
Transferring from Ohlone Community College to UC Davis, Jamison obtained a degree in visual presentation and communication in 1998 where he further sharpened his "artistic eye" in particular taking an interest with his first exposure to black & white photography in which he actually shot with film and created prints in a traditional darkroom.
After graduation, Jamison works for various Silicon Valley companies as a multimedia specialist in which he created interactive CD-roms; as a Web Designer creating and maintaining both internal intranet and websites for various compaines; and as an Art Director / Designer / Photographer / Videographer for an automotive aftermarket wholesale manufacturer.
After working in these various capacities in the industry, Jamison was ready for his next challenge and turned his energy towards the realm of Still Photography and Video. He dove whole heartedly into learning all he could about Digital SLR photography, mastering the aesthetics of composition and working with the various forms of light. Jamison then brought that experience into the realm of cinematography, and is an accomplished video cameraman. A natural whiz with many pro level artistic computer programs, post production was the next logical step. Already proficient with Graphic Design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Jamison tackled the world of video editorial.
First starting with Sony Vegas software, and then migrating to Final Cut Studio, Jamison is accomplished in the areas of editing, DVD authoring, and has recently ventured into the area of motion graphics. He produced, shot, and edited a documentary for Filipinos for Affirmative Action (a non-profit agency based in Oakland, Ca), shot and edited a corporate video for DKS Associates, a transportation engineering firm, and freelances for the Ohlone College Broadcast and TV department in Fremont, Ca, shooting and editing various productions and internal videos.
Recently Jamison has finished post production and DVD authoring for Adina’s Deck: The Exclusive Detective Agency Specializing in Solving Cyber Bully Mysteries, a TV pilot geared towards 9 to 14 year-olds. He also did on set photography for the project.
